Knowledge Is Power! There is only one starting point in a training program, and that comes in the form of an assessment. It creates a baseline against which you can monitor progress, but before that, it helps prioritize where the focus of training should be. Truthfully, if you're not assessing, you're just guessing. Unfortunately, many training programs either forgo assessments all together, or they focus on performance measures, instead of true physical screens. Sure, the "standard" 40-yard dash, vertical jump, shuttle run and timed-mile have a place of interest in the total process, but their measures should be secondary to a Lacrosse-specific screen, which highlights the necessary foundations of mobility and stability. This can be low-tech, or high-tech, like a 3-D biomechanical analysis. The one thing it can't be is absent from any worthwhile program. |

Athletic Edge Lacrosse has the most thorough and telling Lacrosse-specific screen in the game. Based on ground-breaking biomechanical research, its various tests show whether an athlete has the physical capabilities to perform the necessary Lacrosse movements efficiently — that means well, and without the potential for injury. Any limitations in the patterns that are tested will progress to muscular compensations, which will then alter proper mechanics, and down we go... Sure, good players can do surprisingly well in a compensatory mode, but over time, breakdowns will occur — in performance, in their bodies, or in both. |
